New Goals and New Shoes
Lets start with new goals....I am NOT a runner. That is about to change. I needed some fresh motivation to get back into a regular work out routine and so I have decided to run a half marathon this upcoming June. I have never run more than 2 miles at a time in my entire life so this will definitely be a challenge. I am excited, however to take the challenge head on! Not to mention, I am looking forward to losing few lbs along the way... is there something called the Newly Married 10? Tomorrow is the first day of my training :) This brings me to...
New Shoes...
Nothing motivates me to go the gym more than new workout gear :) On Friday Nick spoiled me and bought me some cute new shoes and workout clothes. Such a fun date night! I love my husband. He is the B.E.S.T.

Congratulations Nick!
I am so proud of my husband! Last week he closed his first deal for YAW. It makes me so happy to see Nick succeed and I'm thrilled to share his successes. We celebrated with a nice homemade dinner of BBQ chicken, healthy smashed potatoes, artichokes, and roasted garlic bread. He already has THREE more consultations with new clients scheduled for this week! My man is amazing :)

2010 Catch Up
Pop yourself some popcorn, because this is going to be a VERY long post. I have a lot of catching up to do! Lets start back on May 1, 2010. Nick and I had a very small but beautiful wedding day. We finalized our wedding date about two weeks prior to the big day. Our original wedding date was August 21, 2010, but decided that for us it would be best to keep things small and simple, and didn't see any reason to postpone the date any longer. Nick's sister, Karen, was getting married May 6th, so it was perfect timing to have Nick's side of the family in town. We literally called and invited our guests to our sealing and sent out announcements to everyone else.
(Sorry if you didn't get an announcement! We were a little rushed and things were a little stressful during those two weeks. In fact, I recently found a handful of announcements that somehow didn't get mailed out). The night before our wedding, we had a small dinner with family members, that were able to make it, and a few friends. We really enjoyed the intimate setting. We were able to visit with everyone, cut a cake, listen to kind words people had to say about us, and watch a cute slide show that Nick and his brother Devan put together and surprised me with. I have to give credit to our friend Liz for putting together the flower centerpieces that turned our perfect (not to mention my gorgeous bouquet for the wedding day), and to my friend Nicole for making our cake, which looked beautiful! Despite the rain and snow, our wedding day was absolutely the best day of my entire life. I felt so beautiful, and I was finally getting married to my best friend and love of my life. I am so grateful that we were married in the temple. The blessings we received and the love that I felt for Nick that day were incredible. No words can describe the feelings I had that day. My favorite part of the day was when Nick saw me for the first time in my dress and veil. All I have to say is LOVE. I will forever have a mental snapshot of that moment.
We immediately took pictures with friends and family after our sealing (would you believe the rain stopped?) and then left straight for our Honeymoon. Nick's parents bought us a night at hte Homestead resort in Midway. We had a beautiful cottage suite with a fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, and king size bed. It was the most perfect first night as husband and wife, complete with a steak and salmon dinner, a swim in the natural crater on the resort, and a very romantic snowy night ;-).

The next morning we drove back to Provo to attend the baby blessing or our nephew Connor (not awkward at all seeing your in-laws the morning after your first night together with your husband, LOL) and then headed up to Park City that evening.
The rest of the week was a whirlwind as we came back just in time for Karen and Zack's wedding festivities. Notice her hair in the video... I did it :-).

Fast forward through the summer, because it was not a fun one being away from my Hubby for four months, to August 21, 2010. On the date that Nick and I originally were going to be married, my brother, Cameron tied the knot to Rachel. She is so perfect for him, and I am so glad that he found such a beautiful and wonderful girl to be his wife. Unfortunately, nick was unable to attend the wedding because of work, but it was nice for me to be with family and celebrate with my brother who I love so much!

Finally, Nick came home in September. I love sharing a home with my husband. We love being married! We truly are each other's best friend and so far the first year of marriage has been easy breezy.
October highlights: Nick's grandfather passed away. We were blessed to be able to attend his funeral in Florida. for me, it was so wonderful to get to know Nick's extended family better and learn about the wonderful life his grandfather lived. As I learned more about Grandpa Nick, I couldn't help but notice hat my Nick inherited a lot of his traits. Grandpa Nick deserves his own post, so I won't go into too much more detail here.
In November, we said goodbye to Nick's brother, Devan, as he left to serve our country in Iraq.
Later that month Nick and I celebrated our first Thanksgiving as a married couple. I love to cook and look forward to Thanksgiving dinner every year. This year we hosted my brother and his wife, Nick's little sister Anne, and Devan's girlfriend Kirsti (who I love by the way!). On the menu was Roasted Turkey stuffed with lemon, garlic, onion, and thyme, cheesy Parmesan mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, leek and cornbread stuffing, traditional stuffing, sweet potato casserole (thank you Rachel!), homemade cranberry sauce, rolls and of course gravy! For dessert Rachel made a delicious apple pie and we stuffed ourselves with yummy appetizers and treats all day long. At the end of our evening we held up a Bradley family tradition (now a Moyes family tradition) and went to see a movie. (Harry Potter 7!!). We had such a wonderful day!

December highlights: Nick and I celebrated our third Christmas together, but first Christmas as a married couple. EPIC FAIL- we didn't take any pictures of our first Christmas :( I will be sure to do better next year! We were able to spend Christmas with Nick's parents and Anne in Indiana. Mid trip we all drove down to Texas to spend a few days with Ryan, Katie, Carly, and Connor. It was so nice to not have to work and spend time with family. We got home on New Years Eve. Unfortunately, I got sick, so it wasn't too eventful of a night, but we did get Chinese Takeout (another family tradition) and watched a movie until we passed out- which was before midnight! Ha!
Since then, we have been super busy with work, school, ward callings, and new business ventures. I am still a manager at 24 Hour Fitness, and have started to do hair out of my apartment on Saturdays. I also just started selling Mary Kay, which I am really excited about. I recently got called in my ward to serve as a Secretary in the Young Women's Presidency. I love my calling! It is so fun to work with the girls in my ward and I have met some fabulous ladies that are so much fun to hang out with. I love having girlfriends and couple friends in the ward. It helps me feel settled. Nick is finishing up his bachelors degree at UVU (only a year left to go!!) and just started his own business as a car buying consultant. (Check out his website on our side bar). I am so happy for him that he has something he is passionate about to throw himself into and know that he has what it takes to be successful at this! He also recently got NRA pistol certified, RSO certified, and is teaching classes on the side. Every Tuesday night, he plays basketball with the Elders Quorum at church, and was just asked to be the ward team leader. Basically he is in charge of keeping a consistent
Wow!! I think that catches us up to date. Overall, we are very happy and doing well. We hope your family is too :)
